FULL IMMERSION AND VOLUNTEER WORK

Our SPANISH FULL IMMERSION program is the quickest and most effective way to learn Spanish. Through this program, the student receives exclusive benefits at an affordable price that enables him/her to travel to a Latin American country and immerse in the culture to learn Spanish.

In this program, the student takes advantage of his time, one hundred percent. The SPANISH FULL IMMERSION program is a combination of four hours per day of Spanish in the School and four hours per day of volunteer work in the community.
The student can live with an Ecuadorian family or in the School’s residence, where students and volunteers are able to practice their Spanish.

The program lasts a minimum of 30 days, is available in the cities of Quito and Manta, and focuses on the areas of education and community service. For students working in community service, they will have the opportunity to work alongside Ecuadorian university students.
In addition, students have the chance to participate as assistant teachers of English or of the subject of their specialty. If teaching a subject other than English, it is important that the students have a good level of written and verbal Spanish so that they are capable of transmitting information and knowledge fluently and efficiently. For volunteers wishing to serve as an assistant teacher, it is best they stay and teach for at least three months in order to provide students in the schools with better continuity of teachers and teaching methods. It is recommended, although not required, that volunteers interested in being assistant teachers in English or other subjects take a TESOL course to prepare them and give them the necessary tools to fulfill their teaching responsibilities.
Remember that this program involves many college students who are studying Spanish as well as those studying to become teachers. There is the possibility that your program in Ecuador could be transferable as Service Learning credits at your home university. In order to receive such credits, you need to contact us prior to your trip so we can sign an agreement with your university.

This program is generally very popular among our students. If you are interested, be sure to register early since space is limited, especially in Manta. The sites selected for our programs are beautiful, natural paradises of Ecuador so that our students can enjoy and maximize their time.
Quito, the capital of Ecuador, was the first city declared by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site. Manta, located in the province of Manabí, is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador and South America.
The price of this program is $650 for the first month plus accommodation, which includes 80 hours of college-level classes and 80 hours of service in one of our specially designed volunteer programs. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in various cultural and tourist activities throughout Ecuador.
Students have the option to live with a host family or in the School’s residence. Our accommodations are known for being a friendly, comfortable, and welcoming place for our students to stay.
The volunteer program aims to serve the most vulnerable sectors of our society in a selfless manner without seeking external recognition. On our website we do not publish our volunteer projects since we do not want to disrespect the privacy of the individuals who benefit from our work. Our projects are similar to all projects in the world where there are gaps and needs that require the generous support of hands and hearts willing to give their time and effort on behalf of others.
However, students who take less than 4 weeks of Spanish in our school that have sufficient knowledge of Spanish and wish to participate in our volunteer programs may do so through our Ecuador Volunteer Foundation: www.ecuadorvolunteer.org
